I had such a great time at CKC! Last year I signed up too late and ended up just taking whatever classes were left, but this year I took two classes (lecture-based, my favorite kind – I’m a total nerd so I love hearing people talk about design and scrapbooking philosophy) with Ali Edwards and two with Simple Scrapbooks. I didn’t know this when I signed up, but the two SS classes were taught by Lain – bonus!
Not only were the classes great (and I won this in one of Ali’s classes), but I kept running into people I knew – last year I didn’t know anyone here at all (we had just moved from Norway), so I was a total loner all day. Anyway, I found Leslie and Noel two seconds after walking into the convention centre, met the ladies from the CK message board for lunch, finally got to say hi to Brittany Beattie from CK, got to sit with Deb from my local scrapbook store in one of the classes, and of course I got to stalk Lain and Ali. Heh. I’m well chuffed I am!
I stole this photo from Noel – all the tables were taken, so we had lunch on the floor :D
This is one of my layouts from Lain’s class based on Scrapbook Play from Simple Scrapbooks. It was supposed to be a double 12×12 but I managed to cut everything wrong, so this is just a completely bastardized version of the orginal layout. Anyway, it is about how Bobby is JK’s favorite and I’m just a lowly member of the pack.
…and here’s an older layout that proves my point. They’re best buds and snuggle up together on the love seat while I sit alone on the other couch. Bastards.
I’ll just finish up with this little collage of the two alligators the reptile man brought to JK’s office on Halloween:
